About Indicate
Better information. Safer choices. Clearer routes into care.
Indicate was created around a simple idea: people are already making decisions about cannabis. They deserve reliable information when they do.
Cannabis occupies an unusual place in healthcare. Some people use it recreationally. Some use it to manage symptoms. Some receive it legally on prescription. Others obtain it outside the medical system because they do not know what alternatives are available.
Too often, people are left to navigate this landscape alone. Indicate exists to make that journey clearer.
What we do
A cannabis harm reduction and patient access service
We are not here to persuade anyone to use cannabis. We are not here to persuade anyone to stop. Our aim is to help people understand their choices and make informed decisions about their health.
We provide:
- evidence-informed information
- practical harm reduction guidance
- confidential conversations
- help navigating available support
- information about specialist medical cannabis assessment
- referral to independent specialist providers where appropriate
Why harm reduction?
People do not always make health decisions in perfect circumstances. Harm reduction recognises that reality.
Rather than beginning with judgement or abstinence, it asks a more useful question:
What could make this situation safer?
For one person, that might mean using less cannabis. For another, it might mean changing the way they consume it. For someone else, it could mean talking to a healthcare professional, seeking help with dependence or exploring whether legal medical treatment might be appropriate.
There is no single pathway. That is why listening comes first.
Why Indicate?
Many services begin with the consultation. We begin earlier.
People often need information before they are ready to make a decision about treatment. They may have questions they do not feel comfortable asking elsewhere. They may have used cannabis for years. They may not even realise that legal medical pathways exist.
Indicate is designed to be a trusted first point of contact. Our aim is to help people move from uncertainty to an informed next step.
How we work
Our approach is built around a few principles
People first
A person's wellbeing matters more than whether they become a referral.
No judgement
People should be able to talk honestly about cannabis use without stigma.
Clear information
We communicate what is known, acknowledge uncertainty and avoid exaggerated claims.
Clinical independence
Indicate does not make prescribing decisions. Those belong to qualified healthcare professionals.
Transparency
Where Indicate has commercial referral relationships, we believe people should understand that.
Privacy
Health information deserves careful handling. We only collect what we genuinely need.
Where we are starting
Everything starts with the same thing: a useful conversation.
Indicate is beginning in the Forest of Dean. Starting locally allows us to work closely with patients, healthcare settings and community organisations, understand what people actually need and build a service around real experience.
Over time, we hope to develop Indicate into a broader patient support platform combining education, digital health tools, specialist care and long-term treatment support.
